SOLO Fishing on My Tiny Skiff for BIG Texas Redfish

I went out on a beautiful winter afternoon to fish brackish water in Port Mansfield for alligator gar and catfish. Neither of those worked out so I switched gears after getting a tip that redfish were hanging in a small shallow flat. I started hooking up right away!

Really cool to have a boat you and your dad have a connection with. Most folks don't have anything like that or the means to think about keeping it. Id love to have the boat I grew up fishing on

You caught a meal in your cast net. Smoked mullet filets are great!

is there alot of shell in those creek mouths? i have always wanted to wander that way just never had any intel. i seen chubby island and mullet island areas. i can go shallow np. looks like some muddy bottom. so hole shot should be easy enough.

Nice video, how deep was the water and how cold was it? Seemed bundled up good
