I am thinking, why an ecosystem needs so many different species? If we talk about from the primary food source like plants, to secondary living thing, like herbivores. Then, we can see different apex predators. That complete an ecosystem. But, why we need so many different species of bees, ants or plants or apex predators like lions, tigers, cheetah, foxes etc? How an ecosystem develops such a complex biodiversity? Why tigers are found in Asia and lions are mainly found in Africa? There must be a reason that lead to such complex bio system. Another doubt is, if a mass extinction means almost complete wipe out of species. Then, we can safely predict that, another ecosystem will be making to suit the new environment. The question is, in such a short time, we can see a complex ecosystem emerges. But, if we look at history, dinosaurs were roaming the earth for billions of years, yet, there is very little mutation in its DNA. Then why in the subsequent mass extinction, a variety of DNA mutation can emerge and form a not so new ecosystem as, a number of the species are similar to that prior to the extinction. Is there something we miss about how new DNA can start to form and develop into a brand new species and yet, the DNA structure is similar for all. Logically, when we say extinction, that mean the DNA of a species will be gone forever. If during a mass extinction, say 95% of the species are gone, then, how the surviving species can transfer their DNA to the next generation and slowly form a new ecosystem?

We can also contribute to biodiversity by not voting for political parties which ignore human-caused climate change and political parties which put the profits of billionaires ahead of the survival of those who can't compete with billionaires. Boycott Amazon...
