When McCain ran for president against Obama he had the matureness to denounce the racism and biggotry his supporters were spewing to their face and has always had my respect since then

I'm a veteran. I'm retired from the Coast Guard. I had no use for Trump back when he was a reality TV star and when he made those initial comments about John McCain and veterans in general he lost me for good

Translating Amy's comment: John McCain is the man that Trump wants to be, but knows he never will be. So, all Trump can do is talk McCain down so his supporters will raise him up. Trump is disgusting, or as Hillary said, is deplorable

I remember a woman tried to diss Obama at a McCain rally and McCain shut her down immediately. That was so honourable of him

McCain STAYED with his men rather than take an early trip home.
McCain has CHARACTER, something Trump doesn't understand

Donald Trump still does not have any respect for those who have made enormous sacrifices serving their country. As someone who has already been the President, he should know better. His comments about veterans make me sick, and I'm not even American.

John McCain was one of the last republican politicians with real integrity and decency. He made decisions he thought were best for the country, not just for his own re-election. Even defended his political opponent against unfair accusations.

Meghan McCain is not a favorite of mine but on this, I am with her 100 percent. I admire her for snapping back at Trump, not letting it go.

If it is even real, only Trump would accept from a war veteran, that veterans well deserved purple heart. EVERY other President would decline the offer and thank the hero for the kind gesture.

John Mc Cain is a true American hero. Whether you agreed with him in politics, he commanded respect for his integrity, his sacrifice for the nation and his sense of fairness. Even during a heated campaign, his honesty and sense of fairness was evident. After his passing, even his political rivals joined in eulogy. A true Giant. Lesser spirits cannot understand him.

I was not a fan of John McCain politically but always highly respected his patriotism, on the other hand The Donald is an egregious waste of precious oxygen and H2O.

When Joe Biden spoke to Meghan on 'The View' about her father and President Obama gave a speech at his funeral, that's when you know Mr. McCain (still) has the love and respect Trump cannot buy.

Trump has the audacity to do that. He is not even worth to say the name of McCain.

John McCain was a true patriot. He had integrity and class. Those are things trump will NEVER appreciate or understand.

I remember when the old (future MAGA) woman tried to tell McCain that Obama was a Muslim born in Kenya (this is when they were campaigning against each other) and McCain corrected her and said Obama was a good man who loved his country and they just had different points of view. We may have become irredeemable as a population that deserves our freedom, given that so many of us have become naive or stupid (or both) or are politicians willing to leverage that stupidity for their own narrow, greedy fascist agenda.

I didn't know much about McCain when he was running against Obama in 2008. I was 25. I only thought, "He's a republican and scary. He wants war" After he died and I saw the documentary about him "For Whom the Bell Tolls", I could not believe how much my opinion had changed. He truly was a man of honor and a war hero and it really helped me understand why he spoke the way he did. I also remember when Obama won that night, and he so graciously conceded and spoke well of the Obama campaign. That's true American right there. I tend to vote blue but ever since then, I have opened my eyes and have always considered voting republican in each election. Thank you McCain. Trump on the other hand is the epitome of "I should be able to do what I want when I want with no consequences" How mocking McCain wasn't the end of his political career I'll never understand. He's disgusting.

It’s hard to say whether Trump’s disgusting comments are more insulting to veterans or to the disabilities community, but he certainly deserves to not get a single vote from either.

When u are envious of another person, u try and cut them down to your level. No veteran should even THINK about voting 4 trump

Thank You Senator McCain for your service to the US. To those who speak ill of his service, they aren't worth speaking about!

What is wrong with that man? He says the dumbest things and he says them with authority like he knows what he’s talking about. He needs serious help.
