FAQ #26: Using Bayer as a coral dip - What recipe do we use?

So what's the shelf life of this stuff? I bought a container of it before a frag swap, but I don't get corals that frequently to use it very often. I'm just wondering if 6 months, 12, 18 months down the line if the efficacy will be greatly reduced.

so I've heard rumor that Bayer is being discontinued. I've seen this is a few places. Is there an alternative pest killer that would work?

Can you dip large coral colonies on live rock using bayer? is there any issue of the insecticide absorbing into the live rock in a way that makes it hard/impossible to rinse out the insecticide afterwards?

Anyone in Canada have a similar product that works? This Bayer is not allowed to be sold here because of its aggressive/toxic make up.

I really wish in this day and age that gallons is NOT quoted but to use liters. One only assumes the recipe is using the US gallon 3.78 litres vs the Imperial gallon at 4.55 gallons. Why quote 450ml to a unknown gallon?

why would anyone use Bayer insecticide when there is actually dips made for coral

I like Paletta BUT, I wouldn't put that Bayer poison on my lawn and can't think of dipping animals in it can be a good thing long term. Having said can't WAIT to see what awesome application for Round Up is in the offing. BRS, I love you guys but this just borders on insanity IMHO.
