Wow 13's wide lens is actually so good, I wish it was a bit wider. I see a lot of potential here and I hope future updates will improve camera performance

Honest, sensible comparison, and with a conclusion that I completely agree with... the loss of the telephoto capabilities of the Oneplus 3x lens is heart-wrenching... even if it's just one aspect, it was one of the biggest highlights of the Oneplus 12 series, and I don't know if I'd be willing to give it up.

I think this video only proves what I've been saying for a while now that smartphones have plateued so much that with each 'upgrade' there's actually a lot of downsides not just positives. You would expect everything to be an upgrade but that's objectively (and subjectively) not the case. Samsung are guilty too

Really good comparison, was waiting for this specially for the ultra wide. but the improvements are not as big as I expected so I might stick with the 12 and wait for oppo find x 8 ultra. Finally to be honest I don't see that much improvement on the wide angle a part for the white balance at night. also I consider wrong pixel peeping a shot on wide angle, yes Op13 slight more detail doing a 10x on a wide shot but I personally never zoom a wide angle photo 😅

I'm surprised the ultrawide is so good on the OP13, also the new prism design telephoto sensor should let in more light than the square design of the OP12 periscope. So in theory it should make better low light photos. But since it's a new sensor/design it still needs software tweaking I guess.

Keep in mind that the lens flares maybe would be there if you slightly changed the direction of the 13. Jave a look at 3:57 at the powerlines, WHY are they gone in some areas?? Use a big screen.
What shutterspeed did you have on the 12 at 8:12?

personally, i think the oneplus 13 seems to be still in the early stages, such as the front camera stutters, its low light improvement over the 12 is ok, i think what mainly sets it apart from its previous generations are the battery capacity and performance, i keep thinking they only thought of the cameras as an afterthought just so they can somewhat compete againts vivo, this phone really only shines with its other smaller features theyve added like ultrasonic fingerprint reader, 360degree nfc including a overkill amount of wifi and celluar antennas, the ip69 rating and the oneplus version of magsafe.

theyve only recently just added the macro mode to the phone via a software update, which still shows its in its development stages. So i think i will wait until 3 months after they release the global model, with oxygen os and see if they do have any differences in processing, as by then they wouldve polished all the small bugs and maybe an improvement in camera performance.

I guess that op13 will shine after some months of development. If I can fix some problems of op12 with Gcam, I can't improve it's video performance in other way than using a gimbal and a 3-rd party app like mcpro 24 fps.

Coming from the 7t pro McLaren, then the 8t, to the 10t now to the the 12 is a big jump for me in many ways..camera, battery, screen brightness, ir blaster, ip rating etc..I've resisted upgrading to it all year but finally folded to buying it on black Friday sale for $649 plus tax(which was the same I paid for the 10t two years ago)...I'm definitely satisfied.. only thing that made me think about waiting for the 13 over the 12 is the 6000mah battery but I'll probably wait a couple years to upgrade again..maybe to the 14 or 15.. i can only imagine how good those will be by then
