I started my cybersecurity career with just a Sec+. Definitely had some knowledge gaps pop up due to that, but nothing that can't be fixed along the way if you can humble yourself to go back to the basics

I looked at the Sec+, saw tons of references to networking I didn’t understand, and decided to start with the A+. 😂

The other day I’ve met a lady in London that manage to find a job in Data Protection with only Captia Security +. Before that she was a chef and now three weeeks in to her new IT job 😮

Fair warning, the exam is very difficult as a starting point. As somebody who relentlessly codes and picks up on concepts easily, I thought that it would be a walk in the park.. even referencing this as solely a stepping stool for the OSCP. I finished the Google Cybersecurity Certification on Coursera in two weeks, and spent two weeks watching every Professor Messer video & taking his practice exams as well as this guy Dion’s 6 other practice exams. I wish I would’ve given myself more time because I have no idea how I passed (781). Don’t underestimate the exam

I got my security+ certification without A+ or Net+ and I work in IT let me say this I regret not getting my A+ and net+ first the core knowledge is so valuable that now I have to go back and get those certifications

I personally consider CCNA to be a higher level certification than Security +. Curious as to why you recommended it as a precursor to Sec +

Get ur CCNA .. then security+ .. u can even get a fantastic job with just CcNa but u got to put in some work like Labs + projects.

Do you recommend doing CC cert with iSC2 first then studying for security + or just go straight into studying for security + .. I’m a beginner with no IT background

ITF/A+ > Net+ > CCNA > Sec+ and you’ll be in very high demand

I agree if you have zero experience or have never been in an IT position dealing with networks otherwise having the base understanding of how networks function is fine

Is it okay to skip Network+ if you did Comptia A+ and you're good with network knowledge? I have degree knowledge but did A+ just to refresh and passed.
