A friend of mine who dabbles as a musician once told me that a good cover shouldn't've just be an exact copy, that you should innovate on it, make it your own thing. This is the first time I ever understood what he meant by that. DAMN GOOD COVER!

Not a lot of people realize how emo the original actually is. It's a song about suicide and how people view it. It's a beautiful song when you can relate and to cover it as an emo style just does it so much freaking justice. Well played.

When I first saw the title I thought it read “Chop Suey- But it’s super Mario emo”. I was confused, perplexed, and filled with excitement. So I must say, as phenomenal as this cover is, AND IT IS, I’m somehow disappointed that this doesn’t sound like what I thought it was going to, even though I have no idea what “super Mario emo” would sound like, and now I can’t stop thinking about what this song would sound like if it were what I thought it was.

I like how you borrowed from every aspect of emo and made the song like actually emo instead of what a lot of people who do this do. You have that classic midwest emo + melodic hardcore elements, the emo pop vocals, screams that sound a lot like Oli Sykes from Bring Me, and the good old fashion palm mutes. Every aspect of this is perfect

I absolutely LOVE the fact that you kept the last part at 3:06 like 99% similar to the main song! Save for that one chord change, the intervals are very much the same as on the original song
