As a former D1 player, I can with 100% certainty say that I’ve never been distracted by anything on a pitchers glove. I’m focused solely on his throwing arm and hand.

Go to an Army/Navy store and get a subdued flag patch. They're brown, tan, and green for wearing on camouflage unis.

This isn’t the first time MLB has done this. Kolten Wong tried wearing an arm sleeve with a Hawaiian symbol/colors on it and they made him stop using it. José Martínez also had to stop using a Puerto Rican flag arm sleeve for the same reason.

I agree with one commentator, the batter ain't watching the glove. They should be focused on the pitching hand. Just umps on a power trip.

Honestly had that same problem with umpire telling me I couldn’t wear my glove while pitching because of the white stripes. So I deadass grabbed a sharpie and colored the stripes in and he threw me out for being a smart-ass 😂

They were probably playing the Yankees that day. Sean Manea had a grey glove that he used for almost a whole season until they played the Yankees and then it was suddenly a problem.

It also only applies to the pitcher. Remember the gold chain with the crucifix. Same damn thing.

Any major league baseball player who would be distracted by the white stripes of an American Flag on the pitchers glove shouldn't be playing the game at all! His eyesight would be so sharp he would be able to hit any pitch thrown to him!

Just go to any army surplus store and get a tactical flag patch and most likely support a local veteran owned business.
