Leon asks Ada the one question 'Have you changed?' - Resident Evil 4 Remake

Leon really wanted to get things going with Ada but he wanted to make sure if she was ready to commit before saying anything. So that's why he asked her "Have you changed?". He already knew the type of answer she would give back but you still gotta try right?

My interpretation was that this is an "alternate timeline" Leon. Or alternate universe.

The ultra cocky Leon from the original resident evil 4 is gone. Leon seems to be more in line with his character in the original resident evil 2 and the re2 remake.
