Until or unless the SHTF, taking down a drone is a felony by the FAA. They hold it on the same level at shooting a an aircraft

Shooting down a drone is illegal. The FAA classifies a drone as an aircraft and it is illegal to shoot one down, even if it is your own.

In case someone was wondering what law this is:
18 U.S.C. § 32, which deals with the destruction of aircraft or aircraft facilities

Might wanna look up local laws regarding this if living in the U S. Regardless it is still considered shooting down an aircraft, which is illegal.
