I highly recommend you to visit Kaset Fair (31-Jan to 8-Feb) at Kasetsart University (accessible via BTS green line northbound)
They held annual event similar to the Red Cross Fair and the food were amazing as well!

PS.. squid (fish) cake is somewhat fusion food from the original, some shops even sell crabstick cake 😂

From what I know, government agencies, companies, and shops come together to set up booths at the Red Cross Fair for charity. They find sponsors to support their activities such as lottery, game, etc. so the money raised in the event goes to ThaiRedcross. But for the food stalls I think the sellers pay rents to the organizer.

Ovaltine is a childhood drink for almost every Thai child. They often give it to children to drink. Of course, there are also those that you can make yourself. But no one has ever made it yourself and it tastes the same as when you drank it as a child. That is why many people line up to have a taste of childhood again. Before, there was a clip on YouTube that taught how to make Ovaltine in the school Ovaltine recipe, but it still wasn't the same. When I was a child, the Red Cross Fair that I went to was held at the Royal Equestrian Statue near the Royal Palace. It wasn't the palace at Wat Phra Kaew, but the palace where the King currently resides. That's very close to my home. I hope you get well soon.😊

The "hidden gem" booths after 9:00 feature the most renowned restaurants from each district in Bangkok, with one stall representing each district.

Oh, how I miss Red Cross Fair and Ovaltine!
When I was young, grandma and mom took me there in the evening annually. Probably because I was a child, I was always looking forward to and associated the fair with 'wishing tree/lucky draw tree' (ซุ้มสอยดาว) rather than any food. 😅 It was like a HUGE annual dazzling carnival with stalls selling unique products. We were excited to go there to just walk around, partly because there was no night market back then.

Haven't been there for over 10 years and most likely can't go there for many years to come, so I'm glad to see this vdo and how enjoyed you two were. ☺

i visited there too! i went the 3rd day of the festival. and oh my, its so crowded that i can barely walk. ( i go there 5pm). red cross fair is a place where theres a tent from all the government ministry and agency. there will also have lot of famous restaurant from around thailand sold ina cheap price
