Actually for Drums, i.e. percussion (means Dirac-pulse like waveform, as with Dirac output = convolution, wav ) a more or less dot-free reverb is needed, thus even Dragonfly (with very good parameters) is not feasible (you cen hear the dots), thus Acon Reverbate is the only reverb to use, even with almost no parameter

I think it's a great idea to have a stream and a edited version. I enjoyed this. Thanks again Jon

CONVOLOGY It's a convolution verb but has many features to tweak the sound including width. Thanks to Reaper's multichannel support, some mono sends I've made into come out as stereo returns. It has really good halls and plates and digital gear emulations, and SPRINGS!!! Good spring reverbs are really hard to come across, especially for free. This one checks all the boxes. It's in all my mixes!

Appreciate this useful video, but I will say that your testing was limited (i.e just a clap/drums), some of these reverbs are not really suited to drums, oldschool verb for example is something I've been using on vocals for years but wouldn't really use on percussive sounds.

Been looking for plate reverb for reaper. Thank you very very much!

The one from acon digital has the best low end response. It has no weird resonances which makes the sound really clear to be used in a mixing context.

I've had OldSkoolVerb on a send for a long time. I just replaced it with TAL Reverb 4 just to switch it up while I was updating my project template.

Many thanks. I use the original Sir which works for mixing but I needed a low latency reverb for live streaming and the simple Acon works well with a bit of Reaeq. Nice to have quick access to 4 usable different length reverbs. I also just tried out the dragonfly Hall with just the late reflections as I have a bright small room with condensers so I've plenty of early reflections. Thanks again your channel is invaluable. (You and Kenny Gioia have very different styles of teaching but both equally awesome!)

I see you have the OLD School reverb. I really like the presence and transparency of this verb. It's not free, except for cheezy trial version but that gave me an idea of what it's capable of. What is your take on this? wOULD BE NICE TO HEAR SOME VOCALS ON THESE.

I really wish those developers who haven't updated their plugins in years would just be a bro and release their source code.

I really like the DragonFly Reverb but it's a really heavy plugin.

Just my 2 cents - MV, NonLinearSpace, and PocketVerbs from Airwindows are all fantastic free verbs :) these wouldn’t make the list because they don’t have a GUI but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oril River has been my go-to ever since it came out. Testing a reverb with only sharp percussive sounds and then a drum mix will not reveal the complete picture. To me, how a reverb performs with other instruments is more important. Drums are down the list.
