I like that they added this element of Frieza’s character. He’s been at this evil tyrant thing for so long, he’s heard all the cliched lines. That is until he meets Goku.

one of my favorite moments in this series is the pay off to this joke with goku.

"i...m sorry thats a new one."

This is, in my opinion, one of the BEST villain speeches I've ever seen. It both shows what a deadly threat he is, and yet allows him to NOT try to act threatening. The fact that he's going to kill everyone is just a casual thing to him, and he's enjoying it the way someone might enjoy a walk through a park.

What adds to the layer of villainy is that it's implied that Bardock was the one to make Frieza start keeping track of the clichéd lines. So the numbers he's throwing out are the *least* amount.

Always liked the idea of an extended scene here that's just an increasingly unhinged list of lines Freeza has heard. "Ok, we're going to, um, abuse your giblets?"

I've always loved how this scene is written.

Sure it is a funny joke, but at the same time it establishes Frieza as a chillingly dangerous foe.

He has walked over so many heroes challenging him that it has become tedious and he had to invent a game to keep his attention.
