Also, the way ash's Pikachu took out gostrodon is a lot more clever then people give it credit for. Imagin 2 senerio's. In the first someone smacks you in the nose. In the 2nd scenario someone takes a hard cover book places it in front of your nose and then thrusts the book into your nose with their other arm.

rosearade can have the natural cure ability which cures status conditions when switching out

Yeah, this was a good start to this battle, especially from Cynthia, constantly switching and the strategies from her Pokemon, especially Spiritomb. It was definitely the MVP of this episode. As for Ash, he's definitely struggling, especially with how Pikachu was defeated and it's definitely going to be more interesting how the rest of Ash's Pokemon is going to take out the rest of Cynthia's.
But poor, poor Dragonite. 3 loses in a row. Now all we can do is hope it gets a win in the Leon battle. Although I don't mind how it was taken out cause if you recall the first battle between Ash and Fantina, when all 3 of his Pokemon were put to sleep, he had no choice but to forfeit. Yeah, he could've still continued, but he knew it was for the best. And yeah, Ash could've switched Dragonite out, but there's the worry of it still getting knocked out when it gets sent back out.
Speaking of the Fantina battle, to be honest, it was odd for me to see Pikachu use Counter Shield again cause Ash doesn't really use his strategies from previous series' all that much. He mostly goes for the new ones he comes up in the current series.
And lastly, you say Gengar served it's purpose by getting the burn status on Roserade, but Roserade may have Natural Cure and that's why she switched it out right away. It could have Poison Point instead cause we see in the next episode preview, Dracovish gets poisoned, but we saw in the special preview, Roserade hits Dracovish what looks like Poison Jab and that's what cause the poison status. So I'm leading toward Roserade having Natural Cure.
Looking forward to the rest of this battle.
