I went to We Buy Any car with my D3 Audi A8 once. He went round it with a magnet and told me, "this is full of filler mate, have you rolled it?". I explained that aluminium is non-ferrous but he wouldn't have it and offered me scrap value🤣

Stop milking it, we all know you are going to massively overspend and we absolutely love it!

I took an Audi RS5 to we buy any car. I paid $42, 000 for it a year prior.
- 30, 000 miles
- mint condition
- First owner was an Audi dealership manager, I was the second owner.
- full Audi service history, new tyres and brakes all round.
- 11 months MOT.

WBAC offered me £22k, I sold it back to Audi for £35k 2 days later, privately I maybe could've got even more.

WBAC are crooks, they tried to tell me the car had been crashed because the panels were full of filler because the magnet wouldn't stick, he was doing it on a plastic bumper. He then said that the wheels weren't original Audi wheels, when they were, and in front of him I checked the serial number and showed they were. He then said the tyres weren't appropriate for the car, despite them being brand new Bridgestones as per Audi's recommendation.

When sitting in the car, he noticed a warning light on the dash, which was the warning for the engine being on, whilst the door was open, he marked it as an engine fault. He then held the traction control button, the light came up on the dash, and he marked it as a fault, he then spent 5 minutes revving the car saying it idled lumpy, it didn't.

The reason WBAC don't let you film is purely down to the fact they know their employees are encouraged to do shady stuff, and the last thing they need is for it to be shown publicly.

I’d say the chances of them offering an extra £3400 for this car once it’s “de-wrapped” and the engine management light issue fixed are around the same as us never hearing the words “I’ve massively overspent” from Matt again!

We Buy Any Car operates like this - they give you what appears to be a very generous offer. Then, when you take it to them, you'll be given the 'hard sell' by a typical second hand car dealer. The initial offer is absolutely a 'Come On'.

Idea.... use the engine as a coffee table with a glass top. Leather seats as office chairs and couch. Clock as a desk etc

Having earwigged into this as my husband is an avid subscriber, I now realise that this isn’t a car site at all, its a self help group for daft men who spend half their life buying disasters and losing an arm and a leg, (like my Uncle Norman.) Well done for making them all feel better and helping them buy ……just one more😂😂😂. PS. I drive a Volvo XC40 B3 ( I had to ask him what model it was) and he drives ..a Range Rover Sport. Enough said.

Pages of fault codes shouldn't be too much of a worry. For example our 2014 Touareg developed a fault on a drive back to the UK. Putting it on a diagnostic machine at an acquaintances repair shop produced four A4 pages of faults. The chap told me not to worry as he believed they were all being caused by one issue....The rear offside ABS sensor. He was right.

As a mechanic myself, all these jobs are easy fixes. To be fair, they an easy fix for someone not mechanically minded. Boot release, bulbs, pads, bonnet catch etc are very straightforward. That's how I learnt years ago (no Internet back then). Just have a go yourself, you may be surprised how easy it is.

Great video Matt just like the old days! I know you need your sponsors but it was really nice to have a video without “Carvertical”

Try installing a new battery first, then reset the codes and see what happens. In my experience, several of my past cars showed faults when scanned, but after replacing the battery, most of them disappeared. A low battery can cause numerous issues since many systems don't function optimally with insufficient voltage.

With it being a VW Bentley, you will find a lot of the parts can be sourced cheaper by looking for VW/Audi/even Skoda part numbers.

"Split hose causing misfire " that may well be the notorious vacuum hose that needs the engine out to replace ooooh !

Great fun video. We all love the notion of high risk car adventures: Nurburgring, Paris Dakar, M25 on a Friday night. But there is NOTHING more high risk than buying a cheap Bentley Continental with a service record that stopped 10 years ago! Looking forward to watching this develop ….

Ey up Matt…top de-wrapping tip from someone with 35 years experience of vinyl on vehicles…use a wallpaper steam stripper without the plastic plate/shield on the end of the hose, and don’t use a hot air gun…hold the end of the hose about 15cm (I didn’t want to say 6 inches 😳) away from the vinyl and keep the hose moving, otherwise you will “weld” the vinyl to the paintwork…aim the steam in the area just ahead of where you are peeling...let me know if you need any further advice…will be glad to help you get as much as you can from WBAC…hope this helps 👍🏻

Out of curiosity I looked at WBAC for my 1998 Lexus LS400, I had owned it for 18 years and it had FSH, no problems or faults and was my daily driver with a big mileage of 260k, their offer was £50 🤣🤣
