Everything We Know About Duke Inferno So Far | Honkai Star Rail Lore

Duke Inferno is the latest villain to be introduced into the honkai star rail setting and theres very little we know about him. We know that he is a sentient phase flame who has since birth been influenced by the powers of destruction and that he belongs to the annihilation gang but not his overall plans. So in this video ill be going over everything we do know about duke inferno so far

Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.

Given how Duke Inferno has 4 minions under him, I'm guessing that they will serve a role similar to Bronya and Gepard who were mid-story boss fights. The same happened with Kafka and the Ebon Deer in Luofu. These are boss fights that often get adapted into MOC but are not really on the same tier as a massive story milestone battle like Cocolia. The story significance of such boss fights can vary. They could be a significant character like Kafka, or just a meme-worthy punching bag like Yanqing.

We kind of already know Sam is the next weekly boss, so Duke Inferno is likely not even really "important" enough (at least not yet) to become Echo of War tier villain, unless they're saving him to be the next weekly boss in 2.2 or some later update.

After my playing the story of 2.0, i have a theory to what happened to him.




He most likely is still alive, because his followers didn't chase acheron seeking vengeance. But instead 'disbanded' which is suspicious. I have a feeling he lured acheron and either made a deal or faked his death during the fight. And the disbanding of the everflame mansion was just an act to take attention away from them and get the IPC's attention off of them. To then infiltrate penacony using his teleportation and cause distruction beyond anyones imagination

Sunday is either evil or stupid for inviting Ifrit to Penacony; IMO he's likely going to be the true antagonist for Penacony (maybe he'll try to assimilate the guests into the Family? Not sure).

I think they'll not be the main villains, penacony has all that happy vibes, but ofc there's something pretty bad underneath. I expect the annihilation gang to be the starting villains ( I also expect them to use sam as a scapegoat, just because he is a stellaron hunter, so probably everyone will believe that sam is doing everything), but then things will begin to be uncovered, and someone, or something from penacony will be the main villain.

he is going to be a side antagonist, but he is the main antagonist in the entire game like pierro from genshin impact

I have a strong feeling Duke Inferno is not the main antagonist and either that Albedo girl (forgot her name) will betray him for her own goal or something or there will be a higher power for the main antagonist.

I just know somehow he’s going to be an Erudition character cause has the knowledge of Destruction itself or was born of it to be exact. Which he shares with his Gang. Might be a cracked erudition character or not, who knows
