I filmed this reel inside the Pozzo Sacro or Holy Well of Santa Cristina in Sardinia. Holy Wells were built all over the island by the Nuragic Civilisation in the Bronze Age. This video is taken on the bottom step of the twenty-five which descend inside a narrowing trapezoidal structure into the well.

The video shows the well water along with offerings modern-day visitors have thrown in, the 7m high vaulted thòlos made with basalt blocks and the oculus. It’s thought Holy Wells were used for rituals related to water. The Holy Well of Santa Cristina may also have been aligned with lunar cycles.
