In today’s video, Hank talked about all of the amazing things that gentle hands can do to help others. When Hank had trouble using gentle hands when he was little his mom helped. When Hank got older, he did all kinds of fun things to help him control his hands. He learned how to draw. Holding a pencil right can be hard! If you have trouble keeping your hands gentle ask an adult to help.

Parents and Guardians – Here are some ways you can teach young children to use gentle hands. If your child is being rough, gently stop their hands. Stay calm and tell your child that “we use gentle hands.” Ask the child to show you gentle hands. Help the child use gentle hands and model the behavior you want to see. If you want you can ask the child “What kind of hands do you use?” throughout the day.

If you are looking for fine motor control exercises try one of these:
• Undoing, redoing buttons, zippers, and belts
• Playing with Lego blocks
• Cutting things out with scissors
• Tweezers!
• Use an eye dropper to move liquid between two bowls

HANK IS SOCIAL!
