Matthew 26:26-30
If you forget where you came from and where you are, you are going nowhere, it is good to appreciate God for what He has done this year.
1. Holy Communion provokes our remembrance of what God has done through Christ (John 10:18). We become partakers of what was done on the cross.
2. The prophetic angle of the cross provokes our memories of our time, and we abound in thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is the way to tap into His work.
(Deuteronomy 16:1-3) Every year Passover is celebrated with unleavened bread ending the taste of Egypt from their mouth. The bread of affliction is a remembrance of affliction in Egypt. Jesus took the same bread of His body ending the year of affliction, a new covenant and dispensation and chapter. No more years of affliction, Jesus has taken over.
The day of our affliction is over now. The bread of affliction speaks of scarcity, pain, and labor. We have unlabored victory, no more bread of affliction. Leaven is a kind of yeast that makes a hollow life without substance. We have substance and a good relationship because the bread of affliction is no more. The taste of Egypt is not our potion. The body of Jesus took away the hollowness and taste of Egypt once and for all.
The waters of adversity and the bread of affliction is not my portion.
