Commercially, this was Ani DiFranco at peak popularity. But it's worth noting that every album of hers has charted on Billboard, which is phenomenal for an independent artist. Ani hasn't ever lost her appeal and she has the same devoted following.

I have a talk top that says "Someone call the girl police". I wore it yesterday and listen all the time.

She has also been criticized for her dreads and a more recent plantation scandal I don't remember the details of, just how icky it was.

I still adore her though because she's willing to grow.

Seeing her finally 27yrs after discovering her and falling in love with her lyrics! No lie, when I found out she was touring even though I always wanted to see her when I was younger our viewpoints don't line up quite so well anymore these days, but I'm still absolutely going to see her in person and I'm going to jam out whether the lyrics apply anymore to me or not because there was a time where she got me through a lot of things!
I'm still tattooing a lyric upon my body one day. I may have changed since I found her but her lyrics spoke my experience in ways I didn't have words for many times, and I will always love her work!

❤I love Ani I seen her a few times in concert, I did notice a lot of lesbians would be angry with her because she was dating a guy at the time. My thing is she can do whatever she wants. We were supposed to enjoy her music, (well, I know I did) not her personal life, if she was happy who she dated then she was happy, let her be.

It's just really good songwriting, and some people are big mad because they can't match Ani DiFranco's creative genius. Also, about some of her songs being "sing-along songs, " Ani actually said once that she doesn't like people singing along at her concerts, because it makes her songs sound too much like "soccer chants." Although, that doesn't stop anyone from singing along to recordings of her songs when she's not around.

Is the make up organic and user and ecosystem friendly. That would be the only question regarding being a sellout. Next, are these organic earth and user friendly makeup brands being promoted. I know right! The one being scrutinized, as an evolving person, has to think about everything in advance, rather than adding makeup to her art form! Her whole being is an art form, and a most amazing one at that.

Really not that remarkable to be one of the top 150 top women songwriters all-time. Honestly, that’s not saying much. But being from the same area (Buffalo, NY)… she definitely had a lot of hits, perhaps she tried going mainstream with that album (God forbid she tried to make some $)… We all know Goo Goo Dolls “sold out” and went mainstream about the same time (another great Buffalo artist/band)… they probably had more success at the time, but Ani definitely had better overall music. “Fire Door” “As Is” — so many others.
