It seems to me that "free will" is quite limited, in that the only free will we have is whether to act on desires, and if so, how. However, we have no free will as to what desires we have, or perhaps, are imposed upon us.

It's interesting to think that if your worried about something happening or not in the universe you could say from your perspective that something would be in a superpositional state.

Something about the materialist explanation of consciousness still does not make sense. Even if the microtubules allow for quantum entanglement within the brain, what causes the collapse of the superposed state? At 24:30 he mentions the chemical environment of the brain, but this makes no sense. The only known mechanism for collapsing a superposed state is conscious observation, yet we do not observe the chemical reaction in the brain. Also, how would a purely physical mind cause a quantum collapse via observation, if consciousness itself is nothing but a product of quantum collapse?

The interface between thought and physical action is the pinnacle of phycology.
It is the essence of why we need to train and practice thoughts, in order to produce desired physical outcomes. 
To consciously mould our personality, in order to create our preferred physical world.

The individual did not Want to write guacamole, but rather didn't see any harm in doing so when told to, presumably under the impression they were being asked to do so for a reason. This differs from acting like a chicken because the individual will likely feel embarrassed or violated in some way by the act, motivating them to resist the instruction.
However, it is possible that if this was performed with a different student with a different personality type, they may be willing to get in front of the class and act like a chicken, happy to bring entertainment to others without any feelings of embarrassment.

There is absolutely no evidence consciousness is produced by brain, but plenty of evidence consciousness is non-local.

It is disappointing to once again hear the quantum collapse explained as a function of observation. It is a function of interaction. Any interaction “determines” the quantum position. For example, if you have a camera inside the box with the cat, the video won’t change once you open the box. The photons (and oxygen/carbon dioxide content related to the cat’s respiration) correspond to the cat’s state at the time of the quantum event.

That is all true regardless of whether and when anyone ever opens the box or observes the cat in any way.

The observation is just one type of interaction.
