My dudes we went from like 60 days away to just TWELVE!! It's finally so close, let's see what finally comes of it! Meanwhile, do you sense Gamefreak giving Ogerpon that 5th mask or are the X forms for something else?

The masks of Ogerpon are based on traditional Japanese theatre called Noh. Masks are used in that tradition to codify the emotions of characters. As such, Ogerpon's masks also symbolize emotions. Fire for anger, water for sorrow, rock for joy, and grass for fulfillment. These four emotions are known as "the four moods of East Asian theatre." So it's unlikely that there will be a fifth mask if they really want to stick to referencing this ancient tradition.

But if there's going to be a fifth mask, it has to represent an emotion as well. Ogerpon's main form (fulfillment) seems to be central emotion where the others (anger, sorrow, joy) revolve around. If Ogerpon will have a special fifth form, and it's going to be ghost-type, then maybe it can be the opposite of fulfillment. Maybe a ghost mask can represent emptiness or hopelessness.

You know how we all were shocked a grass type Ogerpon beat 4 poison types? What if the hidden ghost mask allowed her to take neutral damage from poison and psychic and immune to fighting and a super effective ivy cudgel against Pecharunt??

If Ogerpon does get a 5th Mask, I'd expect when it terastallizes, Embody Aspect would boost it's critical hit rate

There should've been an arc where you and Ogerpon create a brand new mask to fight the Loyal Three. I could see them creating a mask that would've turned Ogerpon from a pure Grass-Type to a Grass/Psychic-Type.

Ogrepon did have another form that was closer to what we see on the story boards of Kitakami, maybe this ghost mask gave it that form?
It'd make sense too because I'm guessing that form that got scraped was more evil than the others making ghost a fitting typing.

Ogerpon's partner resurrects with the ghost mask that Ogerpon can also wear or her partner died and its soul seeped into the ghost mask that the loyal 3 didn't snatch

For the 6 + 1 + x, I believe the 5 would be the Ogerpon masks and the blood moon form for Ursaluna

or maybe the version of the game he got didn't have pecharunt, leaving the ghost type alone so he had a 50/50 chance either it was a secret ogerpon mask or another "loyal three"

What if, that ghost mask is the mere image of his partner who passed away?

It will later on be found in the cave they once rest. A memory of his partner who passed away protecting and ogerpon attach to it so much it became a terrestrialize item that can be use later on.
