There is one clone who took Frank's advice. In season 5 you can see a random 212th trooper in the background using the DC-17M.

DC-17m ICWS is very versatile. When you face a lot of clankers, switch to Rifle. Long Range Enemy, switch to Sniper. Heavy Armored or Vehicles, switch to Anti-Armor.

Fun Fact: Cody has only ever used the DC-17 once. He used it in the Rookies episode when he and Rex gave their blasters to Hevy and Echo, so Rex gave him his other DC-17.

I remember reading one of the Republic Commando books, I think the first one, and a Clone Trooper said he wished he had a DC-17M over what he had.

The DC-15A is easily my favorite blaster in all of Star Wars. Apparently according to its lore it’s one of the more powerful heavy blasters ever made. It’s got a high rate of fire too. And besides, anyone who’s seen attack of the clones knows they look great when held at parade ready in a marching formation.

How dare they insult Frank. Thou he is right about the DC-17m but there's one problem, it actually needs to be reloaded like every 60 shots compared to the *500* shots the DC-15s and DC-15a have per Power Pack.
