Tatum literally suffers from success no matter what he does it's always oh his team is too good this or that. Never seen a player get criticized for winning like Tatum does

Some really obvious points that the casual fans completely ignore:

1. Tatum is averaging 37.5 MPG in the playoffs so far. This is only the second time he's averaged under 40 MPG in the past 5 playoff runs.

2. Tatum has a usage rate o 26.5% so far in the playoffs. Once again, this is the first time Tatum has had a playoff usage rate below 28% in the past 5 playoff runs.

Anthony Edwards is averaging 39.5 MPG with a usage rate of 31.4%.

The only time Tatum ever had a usage rate over 30% in the playoffs was in 2020/21 when Jaylen Brown was injured and didn't play in the playoffs - Tatum averged 30.6 points, 5.8 reb and 4.6 assists in that 5 game playoff run (which included a 40 point game in game 4 and a 50 point game in game 3).

The reality here is simple - Ant is putting up big numbers partly because he is a hell of a player...but also partly because he's playing huge minutes and almost 1/3 of the Timberwolves offense is being run through him.

Tatum is putting up lower numbers partly because he is struggling a little with his shot, but also partly because the team is relying on him less then they have in past years - with his minutes and usage rate both being the lowest they have been for years. The coach is running less plays for him and is playing him less minutes, and is sharing the load around the team...this is probably an intentional strategy to avoid pushing Tatum too hard so that he's good to go when they really need him.

The Celtics have 2 AntMen, Tatum finally has realized how good his team is, and lately his ego has not gotten the best of him where he just is looking for his shot, if he continues to play like this, no one will beat the Celtics...because they have 5 guys that can give you 20 points in any game....in the past, they have lost because Tatum has shot them out of the game, but if he continue to play like this and trust his teammates, Cetlics will win the championship this year.

Teams are doing the same thing to Tatum the Pistons did to Kobe back in the 2004 NBA Finals: trapping Kobe and daring him to take tough shots. I'm glad JT is playing his cards right for the Celtics to win it all. Continue to play right, Tatum, and don't let the media force you to be something they want you to be.

Ant is the casuals darling. JT is the thinking man's player. 5 things people underrate on JT in this ant vs. jt debate:

1. Are we just going to gloss over those rebounds and that JT is averaging a double-double?

2. Ant is a solid defender but hes not in JTs stratosphere. Advanced stats back it up too.

3. Mazzula just talked about JT averaging 1.6 points per screen assists which is historic/highest in the league. JT is setting up teammates in more ways than one for efficient offense.

The devils in the details for JT. if you dont like advanced stats, JT would look inferior to you.

Tatum hasn’t had many “bad” playoff series… the one the media chooses to crucify him for is the warriors series, with 2-1 lead, Tatum was simply TIRED.

I do not think he’ll be tired if they make, you know who will be IF they make it, Anthony Edwards… and he’ll have to learn the same lesson Tatum did, playing against a better more coercive team

What I found kinda funny about this right. Ant did something incredible. Down 3-2 against the guy we see as best player in the world in Jokic and the Defending champs, Ant made massive plays to bring them back for the comeback and we talk about the elevation of Ant

2022....Bucks defending champs, Giannis was considered to be the best player in the world, Celtics down 3-2. Tatum puts up 60 on the road game 6 as they comeback to knock out the Bucks in the second round. Tatum has literally done this before and we act like he hasn't accomplished anything

Ant I think might end up being better than Tatum someday but he's on a much earlier step of his Journey and is being asked to overcome many of the same trials.

Just yesterday this dude laughed when I said Tatum defense is elite. I told him check the stats and of course he didn’t. 😂😂 it hurts them to see Tatum balling! His defense is elite! I watch every game 2 to 3 times! He strips people a lot and he will block you at the rim. Tatum is top 5!!

Just an unpopular opinion, Tatum stats get better each year cos of Brad Stevens. Brad keeps putting pieces around Tatum to maximize him until this year, he found the roster formula to unlock Tatum. Rudy, Naz, KAT, McD don't unlock Ant the same way and the nuggets will expose the wolves on that. Putting perimeter defensive assignments on your first option is asking for injuries.
