Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on protests at Columbia University: "Smashing windows with hammers and taking over university buildings is not free speech. It is lawlessness. And those who did it should promptly face the consequences that are not merely a slap on the wrist." Free speech, discussion, and even strong disagreement are fundamental American values and campuses should be places where those values are cherished. Campuses cannot be places of learning and and argument and discussion when protests veer into criminality. And those who commit such acts are doing nothing to convince others that their cause is just."

I agree. We are not the Middle East. Their chaos and violence needs to stay out of these "United" States. Protestors should go to rebuild Gaza instead. Something constructive. Respect our flag and country.

Could what he says on the floor be considered lying to Congress? It’s a crime even when not under oath.

This was more than just the one topic, and as such the comments on Columbia University's student's protest of ISR doing a genocide were underwhelming.

It was less accusatory than I expected, but still intimated that there is a systemic anti-Semitism within protesting the way Netanyahu has conducted ISR policy over the last 20years. If there is a protestation of ISR that lists, this, that, and the other thing then examine exactly how Netanyahu has used the War on Terror to slowly, systemically instill more, and more problems among the two peoples one nation.

The problems there and how to treat them, and whether people could entreat with one another used to be more manageable in ~1994, the assassination of Rabin was by a Right-wing Israeli, and then we (The West, US) allowed that wing to run ISR since. We needed to step in and reign in the more extreme govt, but we went w/ GWOT and this is a result.

These protests are Americans recognizing the ill effects of the past 25years. This is a result of the 10yo in 1995 now being the instructors/professors of Gens Z, and A. Showing them the world that the Boomers left us and how it does not fit the Promise of childhood rhetoric. It is the "I have been to the mountain top" if we go Left, if we go Right. This may sound like it is speculative, but that is what the 60s were, there was no data, then... they hypothesized based on expected human reaction and it was wrong. Since then there are ridiculously numerous studies about human behavior that we did not actually have before, now we can predict... it is still on humans (who change their minds), but there is nearly infinite more knowledge since ~1997 and the ubiquitous access to the internet. People just need to choose to access correct information instead of seeing who Andrew Garfield may be dating now.

He apparently has never read John Locke's Second Treatise. " For when the people are made miserable, and find themselves exposed to the ill usage of Arbitrary power".

That guy that you are talking about around 3 minute mark, what does he say about affordability for journeymen starting out, and does he have any real comments that will give real help to those union members not making enough to even move out of mama's house

I'm not a citizen of NY but I do agree with Senator Chuck Schumer with regarding the violence that's going especially at Columbia University in New York and he's right, there's no place for violence at all.
