A beautiful example of the Vampire. It looks well cared for, and that's a wonderful thing.

My Dad flew both the Venom and the Vampire during his time in the RAF and as Testpilot! I love this machine! He always called that jet "his girl" and my mother would give out to him!!😂

Vampire is just about one of the best jet designs to come out from the mid-1940s.

Short fuselage for minimisation of exhaust thrust losses, which lead to a twin boom configuration, relatively large elevator surface, incredibly low-sitting when on ground (much easier to gain access for maintenance etc.) and it was about the cheapest frontline combat aircraft in Britain for a brief period of time.

Its cockpit ergonomics is one glaring downside, as well as the mach limit in a dive. Such an excellent design.

Had one of these on display on a high pedestal outside my kindergarten growing up.

Saw several of them in the early 80s ex Rhodesian Air Force. Interesting little jets.

In the 80’s there used to be a Vampire that flew with a Meteor T7. I think they called it ‘the vintage pair’ they sadly crashed into each other in mid air during a display

Keep the termites away.
The front half of fuselage is made of wood !
Beavers too.

Weird planes by today's standards. Saw a pair of them flying a few years back in Switzerland. There's still a few of them (both Vampire and Venom versions) flying in Switzerland.

The South African Air Force Museum in Pretoria, SA, has a flying Vampire, and there's a flying day a few times a year, in case you ever find yourself in this part of the world.

The vampire/venom was one of the very best fighter aircraft ever built! Too bad the Brits have lost those magnificent aircraft engineers likely for good, because their boat people proof to be not quite capable of replacing their skills!🤣🤣🤣🤣

I spent my younger years looking across the playing fields behind my house looking a two seat Vampire (or venom ?) which belonged to the local technical college

Nice ta see da Havilland Vampire on da runway in da video.

If you count da flaps it's roughly 5 per second. Da wind was blowing hard dat day.

Older aircraft are much more beautiful than modern ones.
