So I have a question.
I have a Traxxas stampede 4x4 vxl that has been sitting for quite some time.

I went up to the local hobby shop and it was determined that esc and motor went bad. I ran this setup years ago and always had over heating issues.

Well they sold me a Castle Creations Mamba x with a 1406-2280 motor.

I think I messed up by listening to him because it wasn't what I expected for the "upgrade" it's geared at a 17t but it's really not fast on top end and actually has an annoying high pitch sound when running. I'm running a 3s lipo but I'm just not satisfied with it.

Any suggestions? Did I fuck up by adding such a low kv motor?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

@JayTee hey I picked up the Traxxas 17mm adapters #5353x for my big rock, do u have any wiggle in the rims or do u have a suggestion for sum type sleeve or is it ok with a lil wiggle from rims?? Thanks bud great video

Yea I agree with you there about Traxxas releasing new Slash 2wd and 4x4 with clippless body mount system. They have yet to do it. Plus Proline just came out with the clip mount adapters for the rustler 4x4 so that would be the same across the Traxxas line up. So in your next video I hope to see proline system.

What ESC do you have in there? Velineon® VXL-3s is rated pretty high.

I have shipped my brother in law in the Philippines his Stampede. He should get it in about 2 months. It's on the slow boat. Your Stampede is pretty fast.

Hands down my favorite 10th scale rc truck that I own and it’s still 3s with stock motor and esc. Still runs strong 💪🏼

Great job Jay Tee !!! The Stampede VXL 4x4 was our first RC and still have it, of all the bad azz RC's we have now, it's like a throw back to blow the dust of it and run a couple packs thru it in the back yard !!! Still fun today !!!!
