I follow lot of youtubers with kinda similar content you are posting. But somehow most of your software recommendations "clicks" with me, i'm starting using them and they match with my needs. I assume there is a term "software buddy" should exist specifically to describe such situation 😄 thanks for you recommendations and for your content in general 🙂 Will definitely try Morning Brew and Goodlinks after this video 🙂 Also hope your audience will grow since it is sad to see that few views in compare to effort you are doing 🙏🏽

You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life. --Steve Jobs;';'

Hey Chris! I revisited your video today. I watched it when it was first released but needed some inspiration. I’d love for you to either make a video on YouTube or discuss it on Comfort Zone about how you use your RSS reader in even more detail. I think there’s so much potential and so many different perspectives on it. For example, some people view it as an inbox zero approach, while others see it as a big bucket or timeline of content to explore occasionally. Just to mention few aspects.

I’ve been using Feedbin with Reeder Classic, just like you, but I also tried the new Reeder. In theory, it’s exactly what I want, but I’ve encountered some challenges, so I’m going to hold off for now and see what Silvio brings to the table with the app before transitioning all my content.

Great video as always!

Matter is my favourite read it later app. It has amazing text-to-speech. For someone who struggles to read at any speed, it’s amazing.

I think the biggest issue is that a lot of third-party software is subscription. So the default apps are the best bet.

Also, I feel like Zotero is actually a very solid app available on both Mac and iPad/iPhone for saving links, pdfs, podcasts, etc for your research. Complete with browser extensions.

i really like apple notes because of 3 main reasons. 1 - It is free 2 - It syncs instantly between my ipad and macbook 3 - The functionality it offers in terms of managing documents using hash tags, the ability to add images, links etc in the notes. Everything is saved in one place.

Chris Terrific video!!! The Tweetbot versus Twitter App tip was the best I just made the switch and my stress level and blood pressure plummeted once all of the “crap” disappeared from my feed. I am an Evernote and Notability user but have lacked a good way to capture feeds and consolidate my news reading so thanks so much for your suggestions to try out

I bought Reeder after your recommendation here. However, I have limited ways of discovering new high-quality feeds… maybe you can make a video about the current state of RSS? Maybe share some of the feeds that make this worth it for you? Would appreciate your advice - great content by the way!!

I'd also be interested in your research workflow like the mind map thing you showed. Please make a video about that!

….or…you could just use org-mode and send everything to Beorg or Plain Org and have more power to organize, tag, refile, archive, search, or do anything else than any other app could ever even dream of…. 😃

Are you an Enneagram 1? Haha I swear your choices and reasoning sit well with me!

Keep up the work!

Tried a bunch of apps, none of them is great. But Craft seems the most interesting

One of the problems with 3rd party apps is that you wind up with data all over the place. Islands of information. On top of this, 3rd party developers tend, to go out of business. So it seems to me that it is best to use Apple’s built in apps because you wind up with information in one set of apps, and I’m not worrying about Apple going out of business anytime soon.
