While @misshubnut rustproofs our £200 Perodua Kenari, I attempt to fix the rusty indicators on my 2CV. One of us was more successful than the other...

Miss Hubnut is very good at anything she puts her mind to a natural tinkerer

Ian & Carly, the level of sniggering, innuendo, double entendres and comedy alone are worth the membership fee. 😁

Ms HubNut is a gem. What a great team player. Proof that good things come in small packages.

Iv spent endless hours in summers past rust proofing old cars, never again, I wouldnt consider wasting another hour of my time doing it now.
I enjoyed this post Ian, it reminded me of how not to spend ones precious spare time.
Thanks again Andy

Glue the bump stops with sikaflex, as those look to be still in good condition.

Dear Carly & Ian, I am still in the process of catching up with your videos, and I hope you still get notifications on these old videos. I just want to tell you what an awesome team Hubnut video this is. I have so much respect for you guys, and the work you put into all you do. You are an inspiration and motivation. I have had a very hard past 2 years with my own health; my family's health, water damages and unemployment all combining to destroy my life at the same time. Now I am on my way up again, but in the process, I have badly neglected the service and maintanance of my 2 cars. Its a case of saving my daily driver (Vw Caddy 1.2 Tsi) and most likely scrapping my beloved old 2005 Suzuki Wagon R+. Its simply stood still out-side too long. I have a garage unit but its full of my wood and furniture projects so the cars live in the wild. I love Desmond, he's a car in the same boxy ilk as my "Ruthie" the Wagon. I wish i could save her, but the costs and annoyance to my neighbours is simply too much to burden. But still, I love your videos, and I hope to put the same energy into my Caddy now. Warmest greetings from me in Copenhagen.

Please please Mrs Hubnut wear some safety glasses when you are laying under a car looking up at rusty bits. Even before you start scraping and brushing.
Those rusty indicator bits, just drop them in a tub of vinegar for 24 hours if you are not in a rush, you will be shocked how nice they will come out

My kitchen timer demanded my attention in the kitchen, so I paused the video. At 5:23 ... what a beautiful thumbnail that would make! It's a priceless look of acceptance in disappointment ...😂👍

Stunning work guys, Carly you are fast becoming a YouTube legend. Could you have a word with my wife and ask her to do some rustproofing on my classics? She might beat me up if I were to ask myself

You guys, actually Carly, are doing a good job preserving the Kenari. I am doing the same thing with my Ford Fiesta MK2, only it has been going on for more than 1.5 years due to my chronic fatigue disease.

Not quite sure what is more entertaining, the mechanical work or the background snigger's from Miss Hubnut at Ian's, I'm sure unintended innuendos 👍🔧

When working under your cars, please wear safety glasses. Rust or metal in your eyes, is
not a happy circumstance. We used to rustproof our cars by painting or hand spraying the undercarriage with a light coat of used motor oil. Works like a charm. If you use anti-seize compound on those light fixtures when you reassemble them, the nuts won't seize on the threaded mounting studs. Just a thin coat on the threaded stud will do it. Your "assistant" is an absolute peach. Where did you find her? Not the least bit afraid to jump right in to the dirty jobs. A life companion, for sure.

The innuendo was strong here.... 😂😂 Great to see Desmond and Elly and Chems getting some love. I think you have scored well out of Desmond the £200 car.

Great to get this job done now prior to the the rust creation seasons later on in the year. The front of the Perodua actually looks more like a old Jag XJ front end.
