AC36: AUCKLAND'S RACE COURSES REVEALED

The 36th America's Cup Race Course area were revealed today.
The Waitemata Harbour and the Hauraki Gulf are widely regarded as ‘The jewel in Auckland’s crown’ and will offer a plethora of race course options, with a full range of wind directions and conditions, but with the overarching objective to bring the racing as close as possible to the people and land-based viewing opportunities.

Emirates Team New Zealand is a sailing team based in Auckland, New Zealand representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. They are four-time winners of the Louis Vuitton Cup and three-time winners of the America’s Cup. Emirates Team New Zealand will be defending the Cup in 2021 against the winner the Prada Cup, the challenger selection series which takes place in January–February in 2021 ahead of the 36th America's Cup presented by Prada.

Tidal race in Tamaki strait is 3knots off Bastion point. Reefs, swell, land all make for an interesting race area. Amazing viewing platforms all around for spectators. Tamaki yacht club will be centre of stage. Ngati whatua marae on the headland will bean amazing host. Bring it on.
