I read that Adele's fonal vocal was the demo vocal and recorded with a cheap mic and interface. Wondering if this is true.

Hardly did anything to the vocal means cutting nearly 10db mid-to-high-mid, adding echo, and compressing 8:1 for a peak of about 8db of continuous compression.

Paul - I know that there has been some label interference which is a fucking shame because that guitar riff there makes the song sound so much more authentic and real. I wish artist and producer could just do things themselves in an insular way because all these other people in the industry don't know what the fuck they're doing!
