Lately. I have come to a conclusion that the only people I can and want to relate to are what I am calling "deep thinkers". I realized it's why I have never fit into this society- so many people in my past have never wanted or desired to be deep thinkers. I went to Syria in 2010. It was fabulous. It was clean no gang graffiti. I didn’t see homeless we went to ruin city called Palmyra. It had a temple. Huge and I do mean huge pillars five people holding hands in a circle to surround. We we just walked around nobody keeping us off of anything. It was immense.

I remember flying over Syria and being stunned by what I saw, a seemingly unending series of parallel trenches like something from WWI going on as far as the eye can see across the desert.
We had a wait over in Damascus airport which we were not allowed to leave, penned in by armed secret police.
I'd imagine Tartarian architecture is all over the world.

Now it makes sense: I saw a video of American GIs claiming they hunted down a Giant in Syria- who killed and ate 6 other GIs before he was killed, taken away by helicopter. It stuck in my mind and boom, thank you Jon ... finally the connection... wow. Wish I could find it again.... sad. But probably there we go.

A friend of mine and I concluded God delivered us from drugs so we went into the inner city, and we didn't have much money and were both working a little. So we rented a really cheap house in the Ghetto, housing project. Then slowly we spoke to the homeless drug addicts and within a week or two, we built bunk beds and got used clothing, then when they were ready to change their lives we put them up and had a program. We wanted to give back because we were fortunate. I saw many lives changed even though we lost quite a few. We did not ask for money but people would drive up with food and clothing, then some churches would kick in. Within 6 months we rented more abandoned houses on the same street and had 60 men that were rough drug addicts turned into lambs going back to work. Now that's a miracle. This happened in the mid-to-late 80s then after a couple of years Katrina washed it away

My grandfather came over from Syria. I’ve only been able to find his village once on google maps. His village was called Mishinfee.
So here in Pittsburgh where I live there’s a Middle East grocery store that we shop at and the owners are from the same small village. Small world
