I have done those scooters back in the past 3 decades ago. You would have to change the sprocket ratio I believe right now your scooter won't move stand still you will have to push first to get it started especially with the clutch still on it. Also the clutch will burn out.
The best way is to remove the clutch weld the lug nut on the motor shaft place the motor as closest possible to the tire with the lug nut firmly pressed against the tire weld motor in place and you're done.(you may have to fill up the tire with more air pressure) to start the motor you have to do is stand on the scooter with one foot with the other push yourself into the motor start and you'll keep driving you will hit about 20 to 25mph guaranteed

Dude that's awesome, on top of that, you're probably the only one who actually showed us what you were doing. Thanks :)

This is really cool idea. One thing I would do differently though, I would add a chain cover. If you throw a chain from a worn out link it might take some skin with it if the chain fliys off of the sprocket just right.

You used what you had and made something awesome, I respect it

I really love how you showed us that motor all hooked up to nothing just vibrating and purring on the table. It's a raw obtainable cheap efficient power source. So many ideas.
Could I power 4 wheels with 4 motors? Can you combine multiple motor powers like 3 motors to 1 wheel? Magical stuff man.

I like this scooter great job. I'd only recommend a chain guard. Hope you are still enjoying it after about a year!

A nice illustration of some mechanical principles - thank you. One of the more subtle issues is that more gearing is required because the centrifugal clutches are more of an on-off device, only fully engaging at over half the full rev range. This means that without the correct set of ratios they are always slipping or only work with downhill / gravity assistance, and a push start is absolutely needed.
Am gonna have a go at a 3 or 5 speed rear internal geared hub 4 stroke engine version.

Wow...look at the expertise of armchair fabricators out there. I don’t know how they carry around the burden of so much wisdom 😂. Nice build - way to be resourceful with what you got 👍🏼

Since this video covered needed aspects of the project, I'm not criticizing in any way ''at all'', but simply suggesting. I might've added a brace or braces to that vertical motor mount plate to help prevent your welds from cracking due to motor or bumpy road vibrations, however, since the frame was obviously heavy enough gauge steel that you could use a ''stick welder'', it may not matter. Instead of that plate, I may've welded another plate onto the frame to bolt the motor mount plate onto & added some slots to 1 of the plates so you could adjust the motor's position for whatever reason. Since you added that chain tension idler, the slots may not be needed to adjust your motor whichever way it ''might'' be needed . A very simple, yet excellent build. I've been wanting to build a 4-wheeled version of ''something'' powered with a weed-eater or chainsaw engine. I've torn apart chainsaws & know their drive setup, but since I haven't got around to tearing into 1 of these things yet, I wasn't sure what all was in 1 so this video was ''VERY BENEFICIAL'' in showing how simple the things are. GREAT JOB & GREAT VIDEO, SIR.

Маленькая скорость.А ещё сиденье надо, а вообщем неплохо.А главное своими руками, а не куплено в магазине. И ведь это радует!
