His story is so moving. He’s right—there are serious issues in the world that absolutely need to be dealt with, but in the current zeitgeist, there’s an expectation for you to basically put your health on the line to prove that you are really committed to “the work.” in the past sometimes I felt like if I didn’t hate people who I saw as prejudiced, that would reflect poorly on me. But now I realize that the only way that people ever changes if they have meaningful, often independent or 1:1 experiences that move them- not through shame and yelling- however shameful a position may be. I’m gonna go ahead and say that of the thousands of people who watched David’s video and were personally moved by it- many of those likely inched closer to letting go of ideas that harmed themselves or others. What a wonderful gift to give to the world.
