Belding's younger and more hip brother substitute teaches and breaks most of the rules to get on the good side of the kids.

Clips taken from Season 4, Episode 1: The Fabulous Belding Boys - Mr. Belding's brother, Rod, is substitute teaching at Bayside at the same time they're planning the class trip. Rod offers to take them whitewater rafting and Mr. Belding ends up being left out until Rod ditches the students for a date with a stewardess. Mr. Belding takes them on the trip and saves the day.

SAVED BY THE BELL (2020): When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can't be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality.

SAVED BY THE BELL (1989): Saved By The Bell (originally Good Morning, Miss Bliss), features six enterprising, adventurous teenage students with inventive schemes and mischievous dreams. Played by some now iconic actors such as Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Dustin Diamond, the series follows the teens throughout their fun-filled days at Bayside school and their antic-filled nights at their favorite hangout, The Max. Told from the kids' point of view, Saved By The Bell presents the conflicts and chuckles that teen romances inevitably deliver.

That part where Mr. Belding throws his Yosemite brochures in the trash can makes me feel bad for him every time.

Rod reminded me of my teacher I had in high school. His name was Mr Long And he was so cool, he too had blonde long hair. But unlike rod he didn't ditch us and didn't rip the work. He taught us alot about life. And when I couldn't make it to my high school graduation cuz of family matters he came all the way to my house And gave me my high school diploma. He was so sweet. Rod is so opposite of Mr Long.

3:18 To be fair, Screech does a decent Belding impression.

The actor who played Rod is Edward Blatchford. He went on to write a play that was nominated for an award in 2016. He's also a successful real estate agent in California.

The brother gets the kids all psyched up and then bails on them. I had friends like that when I was younger.

I must be boring. I would much prefer Mr Beldings idea for a school trip!

Rod Belding had a habit of getting people's hopes up and letting them down. Zack sees him as much cooler than his brother due to his laid back personality, until the class trip he overheard the conversation between him and Principal Belding in the office and discovered his true nature. Abandoning a class trip for a so-called flight attendant, Mr. Belding orders Rod to get out of his school. Zack realizes that Mr. Belding cared about his students and apologized to him for what he said.

Actually, a regular principal would be jumping for joy if the students want to go on a field trip with some other teacher.🤣
