Read more HERE:

"For the fourth time, Senate Republicans blocked the consideration of Dilawar Syed, the CEO of a healthcare AI company and President Joe Biden's nominee to serve as deputy administrator of the Small Business Administration, in the Senate's Small Business Committee. If confirmed, Syed would be the highest-ranking official in the federal government who is a practicing Muslim.

Syed is not the only Biden nominee facing a blockade — Republican Sens. Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley have put a hold on many of the president's diplomatic and national security-related nominees as well. But this blockade, according to Senate Democrats and religious advocacy groups, is different."

Yeah they have no legal argument why they're blocking this individual other than their race which is kind of stupid because they have now guaranteed he will get the position when trying to please your base ensures what you don't want comes to fruition

It's not "anti choice" its "forced birth". Call them that. Make ppl confront the reality of what they're demanding: Forced pregnancy and forced birth, and usually criminalization of miscarriages too, like a pulp fiction movie.

As a republican you can be anti-black, anti-muslim, anti-mexican and anti-lgbt but you can't be anti-semitic...hmmm? Freedom of religion is equally as important as freedom from religion. No one race, nationality or group are "God's chosen people"... We're all created equal!

Name-calling will never change anyone’s mind. You never learn that lesson.

I think it's more ethnic discrimination. Islamphobia is just kind of guise --piggybacking off people's fear of the religion to gain support.

One major factor in our current social atmosphere is that many, many living generations were taught in school that America was founded as a Christian nation (which is apparently an excuse to blindly hate anyone not in their club).

That notion of being founded as a Christian nation or even a nation founded on any broadly sweeping religious ideology is patently false.

I still sometimes have this argument with my mom, who *still* asserts that America was founded as a Christian nation (she doesn’t really hate other religions, LGBT people, any particular race, but there is a degree of being judgmental). I’ve shown her the Treaty of Tripoli (negotiated by Washington and signed by Adams). I’ve read to her the debates between founders where they consistently blocked religious terminology or religious assertions in the Constitution (which does include a single mention of “God” specifically designed to be very, very broad so that in their minds it may apply to anyone—except, of course, those heretical nonbelievers and polytheistic believers).

It really doesn’t matter what evidence I present. To her, America is a proud Christian nation, and trying to include other groups in a holiday greeting is apparently a war on Christmas. Her social framework does tend to be a bit ethnocentric, but she does believe in the worthwhile bits like the golden rule, love thy neighbor, turn the other cheek.

But not all people are that mild when it comes to religious fervor. We have a society that has been taught that America is a Christian nation, even if understanding the difference between a democracy and a religious oligarchy. The corollaries stemming from that would include that America is “ours” (white Christians) and that everyone who isn’t a white Christian is less American or not American. This constructs social frameworks to exclude the “other” from full participation in positions of power/influence or even full participation in society.

The House oversight committee should investigate all of these Senators donors who received PPP funds as to whether they were fraudulently received by them.

The sad thing about most Christians, is they think they do humanity right. If they pray for answers they may know that God answers all his children's prayers, all faiths, sex's, those contributing to their community... all communities. Each and everyone. Btw, there is no goalposts in being a human being. Support all...

Did you just say “Qualified” and “Pharma CEO” in the same sentence. By my account via TYT, CEO’s of large companies are the exact opposite of what we declare “Qualified”!

It annoys the hell out of me that somehow Repubs are able to block things even when they are the minority but Dems just throw their hands up and surrender without even fighting.

Calling his association with a group who calls Israel what Israel is “anti Semitic” and then block him from his deserving and earned post is “ironic” and islamophobic…oh and hypocritical. But Ofcorse what else can u expect from Cancun Ted.
