Encrypt your files and control who can access them with Guardium!

Use IBM's Guardium Data Encryption tool to encrypt your data, protect it with access controls, and granularly manage the actions users can take with it.

When you encrypt, you can encrypt an entire disk drive, a whole directory, or even just one file!

In this example, we have three groups: 1) admins, 2) app users, and 3) all other users.

You can get very specific with how you define your rules and set up what users can take what actions. Here's what our policies in this use case state:

Admins are able to see the files inside the protected directory, but the files are encrypted for them.

Application users are able to click into a file and see it clearly (in decrypted form).

All other users are denied access and can't even look inside the directory!
