Rivers Cuomo (Weezer) - Fall Out Boy's Sugar We're Goin' Down 8-8-21 Nationals Park, Washington DC
The Hella Mega Tour live #hellamegatour Video from the pit
Hours before it was expected to take the stage, rock band Fall Out Boy announced it will not be appearing at the Nationals Park stop of the Hella Mega Tour on Sunday after “an individual on the band’s team” tested positive for the coronavirus. Weezer got to play a slightly longer set because of Fall Out Boy’s absence, and toward the end of their performance — right after “El Scorcho,” with its winking Green Day reference (how cool is that?) — Rivers Cuomo paused the action for a quick tribute to the band that wasn’t there, playing Fall Out Boy’s signature 2005 song “Sugar, We’re Goin Down”
Rivers Cuomo is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is the lead vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, and songwriter of the rock band Weezer.
"Sugar, We're Goin Down" is a song by American rock band Fall Out Boy, released to US radio on April 4, 2005, as the lead single from their second album, From Under the Cork Tree (2005). With music composed by vocalist Patrick Stump and lyrics penned by bassist Pete Wentz, the single reached No. 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming Fall Out Boy's first top 10 hit and exploding the band into the mainstream, exposing them to a new audience.
