I love both cars so this comment is strictly neutral - THE VETTE DRIVER WAS A TOTAL NEWBIE.. He did not burn the tires, he didn't even know how to approach the line, and he jerked the start. . . would be interesting to see the same race with good driver . .

Looked like the Z06 driver got caught in 3rd gear mis-shift. That's all it takes with a manual to get shitty times. Automatic is much more consistent.

That's probably the worst 1/4 mile time ever put down by a Z06. A full 2 seconds behind and 12 mph slower than a Z06 can do stock.

Stock for stock corvette is a bit faster. 13-14 Gt500 with just DR’s can hit high 10’s with a driver mod. Corvettes are in their own class though, mustangs are pony cars. My 13’ 5.0 with full bolt ons and a little 2.3 blower has been low 9’s. It’s all about how much you have to spend to go fast. I’ve seen VW Beatles beat super cars...lol

All depends on the driver-all things being equal Corvette wins every time due to weight and distribution and delivery of power to the road. Mustang is not as aerodynamic or as light-weight means a lot so does driver capabilities.  Best 2-3 runs will tell who is best.  1 run by any car is meaningless. It is easy though to see what car looks the best.

Not sure why everyone compares vettes to Mustangs. One is a pony car and the other one is a sports car. That being said, you can get that quarter mile time out of a c5 z06 with tires and a short throw. Poor shifting by the vette driver

Vette didn't burn out, but cut a good light, then gets passed ? Something funny going on !

The Z06 is about 1+ second faster, and a good 10+mph faster than what this video shows.
