FYI, you can have relatively smooth video playback; go to the clips properties tab, click on additional actions, then click on covert to edit-friendly, choose a lower quality. This will make a proxy video file with reduced video quality for the viewer in the editor but will not affect the exported video quality.

If you overlap two clips there will be a transition section that you can highlight and choose from a lot more transitions types.

You can also add a variety of 3D and .cube luts to the filters to get cinematic color schemes and correction, particularly if you are shooting with Cinestyle on a DSLR.

Hi Jack, Awesome teaching! However, after downloading your video, I extend the time to about a quarter longer, then raise the pitch of your voice. This is so I can follow your teaching at a reasonable pace.

For a custom transition what I like to do is cut just as the clip starts/ends and add a keyframed blur effect leading into the next scene

Downloaded this a few days ago. Im playing around with at the moment but i didnt realise there was tutorials like this on youtube so thanks for this i learned alot 👍. I got myself a cheap used computer for a fair deal its not bursting with power by any means but its running this program no issue's atall its only 2gb ddr3, 3.2 dual core i3 and 160gb standard type hdd run by windows 7. P.s doe's anyone know how to change colour to black and white. Im trying to do an old projector filter for an intro but it only do it colour.
