While this might sound like a simple solution, and I do like the idea of more transparency, there are multiple issues that would have to be solved for this to actually work.

1. As a security researcher, blockchains can in fact be hacked.
2. If people aren't verified to be legal voters, these records are immutable, and once input, the entry cannot be reversed.
3. A key aspect of our elections is preserving voter anonymity. Using blockchain for elections would significantly undermine this, as it can allow tracking of individual votes tied to specific people.

All of these issues would actually degrade the integrity of our elections.
