People hate this car because it's a FWD BMW. It's a fact it's the best hatchback on the market right now. Interior quality and driving is still the top of the class.

I got my 123 xDrive MSport at the weekend(standard Portimao Blue) with panoramic roof, Harmon Kardon speakers and heated steering wheel. Loving it.

what about 3-cylinder engine in 120 ? problem occurs in the future long way or long usage of engine ?

Watched a lot of reviews of cars lately. From reviewers all over the world. I have to say Nobby your one of the best. The steering, hesitation in town traffic etc. All great info. It was my experience of that engine too. However, i liked it overall. Fast enough for me. Nicely packaged car from Bm as usual. Cheers

I still consider it the 5th gen. The F20 was a huge facelift and never understood why that wasn’t classed as new model. Especially with the introduction of the 40i engine from the 35i.

2 things. No iDrive controller. As an F40 1 series owner, the loss of that safe easy-to-use interface is a BIG DEAL. They still have it on all the non-Mini rear-drive bias Beemers, so why can't they use it with this? Also, no mention so far of a 2-wheel drive Golf GTi competing 128ti? Has that been dropped from the range entirely? For me it was the pick of the F40 range in terms of performance vs value.

Front Ugly, Rear Ok, Interior Nice, But This Is A Top Spec M Sport Model, So Basic Ones Will Probably Be Rubbish.

I bought the F40 MSport plus after watching your glowing review back in 2020. I'm thinking of upgrading to the F70, as I like the mild hybrid with a little more power, but will also be looking at the Alpine A290 GT Premium. I was considering the Volvo EX30, but it's way too expensive and I hate the lack of physical buttons. Big issue with BMW removing the iDrive controller which I use constantly in my F40. Like the new look, although no leather seats and no visible exhaust pipe on the equivalent new model, and I like my graphite coloured alloys. They are a £900 option on the F70! Storm Grey paint which I have on my F40 is now £1350 and they even have the cheek to charge separately for rear privacy glass! BMW have made it difficult for me to stay with them, if I'm honest, but we'll see what discounts are available.

To choose a car for my wife I compared it against the Audi A3 and after going back and forth between garages and 4 test drives I much prefer the new A3 except for the vents on the driver side. They look like the one in the Labo except that in the A3 they are awful. Apart from the vents the Audi has much more refined looks and driving experience, the road noise is significantly less in the A3, something to consider if you do a lot motorways driving but even on lower speed the difference is very noticeable.
Other details like the sound of closing doors on the A3 you get thay plush sound which a premium car exhibit, also the interiors feels much better. The BMW cockpit with its cheap plastic parts does not compare in terms of quality to the Audi A3. I tried to like BMW and was looking for an excuse to choose it over the Audi, I couldn't find one myself.
The one thing going for the BMW in our case is the staff at the dealer. Very profesional, pleasant and not pushy. This alone and the fact that my wife likes the looks of the new 120 was the deciding factor why I will buy it for her. Myself on the other hand I was going to upgrade from my ten years old A3 s line to the new A3 black edition but I can't stand the vents mentioned above, there is something very distractig about them sitting on both side of the drivers display like a glued on afterthought. Maybe I am too picky but considering that I change cars every 8 or 10 years I rather prefer not to have a weird vents staring at me for the next decade or so.😂

bmw 120 or a focus 155 hp? automatics... I can tell that focus is much more comfortable..What do you think overall? im between those two and in my country the price is similar.
