That can’t be a coincidence, especially with Whoopi apparently returning to Trek in Picard S2. The inevitable scene between her, Patrick and JdL is going to be a thing of beauty.

This looks like how they can bring back Worf / La Forge / Data / Guinan / Q into the Picard series by making it look like time jumps. Just waiting now for a surprise appearance of Denise Crosby as Tasha again!

Personally I’m really excited for the show after the trailer. Anything with Q, and alternative timelines I’m definitely in. I can’t wait.

I just had a sudden thought after seeing the trailer again.

When Picard enters his house and leans over saying that something was not right, I was thinking that maybe if the time line had changed, then the events of the last season didn't take place and that Picard was back in his frail human body. It would have been unusual for him to be leaning over in discomfort, if he was in his android body.

I could be wrong but I just can't thinking this.

Season arc theory:

Looks like an alternate timeline where Q didn’t introduce Picard and the Enterprise to the Borg.

This also negates the Dominion war since Sisko wouldn’t lose his wife at Wolf-359, and would not have been assigned to Deep Space 9 and the wormhole would not have been discovered.

My guess is starfleet is far weaker in this timeline and is facing a stronger Borg or a stronger Dominion or both in this timeline.

TNG S2 E16 "Q Who". This is where Q introduces the Borg to the federation. I wonder if Picard questions Q having done this and Q shows what would have happened if he didn't?

The doctor's puffiness could be all kinds of things...the actress could be going through some health issues (my wife suffers from a skin swelling issue whenever her immune system is under attack). The actress could be using a collagen based lotion or skin therapy which adds some "swell"...doesn't have to be botox.

The first thing I thought of when hearing what Q said to Picard was the choice Q gave Picard in the episode "Tapestry" about setting things right in Picard's past by not being a brash young ensign who fought the Knossican's and needed a new heart. Q offered Picard a new road, a new path and Picard hated the person he had become so he asked Q to restore things to the way they were.
