Beautifully done by probably one of the best experts possible - who still might prefer being out there on the water himself 😉 ... but the next AC-Campaign will start soon ... I can‘t wait for the race to start 🤩!

very correct. good assessment. if one boat is faster it wont matter who is skippering.
if the two boats are even there will be a clear advantage to jimmy and francesco. they are amazing match racers especially jimmy. he handles pressure cooker situations well.
team nz do look fast...!
their manouvers look much quicker than ineos manouvers. that was one of luna rosas advantages over ineos.

the first 2 to 4 races will tell the story..!

It's amazing how much technology has changed the America's Cup sailing. I don't think the originators of the cup could have imaged the ability to change the boats hulls from day to day while racing within the actual cup racing days to match what is needed to win. Basically you can race one boat on a light wind race day and the next day pick another boat for a heavy wind day. Wow.

I don't understand anything about sailing but I'm so much fascinated by these really wonderful boats. The only thing I can understand Is that TNZ, like British before, Is fearing the Italians. I Hope that After a beautiful match they will finish like Ineos!

Weather forecast show, that on Wednesday and weekend wind will be light and that is good for LR . They have perfect configuration for this type of weather. Smaller foils and extra power on low part of main in TNZ, dont matter much with wind smaller, than 16 - 18 knots.
Engines ( sails shape and trim ) and fuel ( wind shifts and local strength ) will play key role.
So I think, that it will be more sailors match then designers match for first 4 days . LR showed, that they are perfect and experienced in this type of weather, AM and Ineos were no math for them ( 4-0 and 7-1 ) . So if I would be from NZ ( TNZ fan ) I would sweat now.

My takeaway: Jimmy has a playbook and Peter is an improviser. And we've seen it before; Jimmy can get out of phase pretty easily and when he does, he'll typically look to draw a foul. Burling sails his own race, and if given the chance, will control Jimmy confidently. The big question is the Code Zero. Prada was good in the light air against Ineos, but offwind will the Code Zero, if used, keep TNZ up on its foils and driving deep when Prada is having trouble? That could be key. And home waters always count for something. My money is on TNZ, but it's going to be a horse race, for sure! And as always, I look forward to Nathan's commentary.

How is tacking & gybing with those two sails up front at the same time on ETNZ?

Are the Hulls / Foils "Coated" with "Slippery Stuff" ?

LR too tried the code zero, not only ETNZ. Both will never use it, it's not practical, it add weight to the boat and it can be used only at max 8 knots of wind.

0:08 We don't all know why that happened. Surely it wouldn't be too hard just to say why it happened rather than make a blanket assumption

With a cool head the situation is simple:
Kiwis can lose the cup; the Italians can win it.
