Wedding Ceremony Flower Arrangement DIY

This DIY tutorial will show how to arrange a large three dimension display arrangement with mixed flowers. This type of floral arrangement is commonly used for wedding ceremonies, church celebrations or memorial services and funeral. Three sided floral arrangements are usually very big, robust and incredibly versatile. You will need a plastic container, approximately 11-12” tall with 10” opening. Fill the container with pre moistened floral sponge, try not to leave any empty gaps to ensure proper flower hydration. Take white waterproof floral tape and secure the oasis.
Tape the sponge from edge to edge a few times to make sure that the arrangement will remain secure during transportation. Insert tall flowers, like snapdragon, first and always insert flowers with soft stems before the others, like gerbera. Arrange the tallest flowers in a fan shape slightly leaning backwards. Repeat that step with a second row of flowers, cutting them just a few inches shorter. Make stems of the flowers gradually shorter and shorter. Make sure when you cut the stems they reach the bottom of the container for proper hydration. The third row of flowers, in our case gerbera daisies, should be inserted perpendicular to the oasis. Make next row of the flowers leaning towards the front edge in the same fan shape. The final structure of the arrangement should remind you of the shape of an open lily. Fill large gaps with roses and filler flowers such as baby’s breath. Finish arrangement by inserting greenery around the base. Fill plastic container with water and store in a floral cooler if needed.

love the video. great job! so cool to see how everyone has their unique ways of arranging flowers. ive mostly seen people start off with greening the arrangement and then adding flowers but this technique is cool too because it turned out to be the same in the end anyway! awesome!

Thank you very much for posting this video.  I love the colours and style.  Very versatile and applicable to lots of situations.  Thanks to your clear explanation as you were working, I have learned a lot and feel encouraged to give it a go, though as you said, it probably takes some practice to get it right.  Thanks once again. So funny how each florist has her own technique she seems to follow. The last video I watched on a large ceremony piece in foam..the florist said to only insert stems half an inch to avoid the stems smashing into eachother or making a grid (video I watched before that said you want them to make a grid under the foam to hold in place lol!). Here you say to insert all the way to the bottom where they reach the water which makes sense to me..but do you find the stems are bumping into eachother that way/or that you run out of space beneath the foam? The last video I watched also said you want to gradually place the flowers at a forward incline to give it a more rounded shape..now this one says not to lean them forward or it will look unbalanced, if I understood that correct? 🤦🤷😂
