The reason your elevator had friction in the first time was because when you dropped the 3 x 3 ship, due to the block it was originally holding on to being on a corner, the whole platform wasn't falling straight down and instead was falling down and into the walls of the elevator, so if you wanted better results with that, you should've just used the fill command with blocks underneath the platform you wanted to drop.

Some helpful advice for future videos.

Use clockwork, it has an item that is basically a gravity gun, and can let you manually move the physics blocks around,

also i recommend just using helms for ships instead of the shipifier tool since it just tends to work better with keeping connected things together
