How to Enable Picture in Picture for YouTube in iOS 14 (Tutorial) | iOS 14 Tips & Tricks

iOS 14 introduces the Picture in Picture feature for iPhones and while it is a fantastic feature, there is one limitation: You can’t use PiP with the YouTube app.

Well, in this tutorial, we take a look at a workaround that allows you to enter PiP while inside of the YouTube application. No Safari needed.

Edit: If you can't change the toggle, just run a random shortcut & then you will be able to.

How to play PiP on Android:

its glitching and its really annoying every time i open an app that i made with shortcuts then brings to the actual app on the top of the page it says “Youtube pip V3” and then nothing works and i tried deleting the thing that puts youtube into multiscreen but its not working

I always get errors trying this now. Not sure what Apple and/or YouTube did but it doesn’t work at all anymore. :/ Anyone have any idea how to get it working again?

Is this problem happening only for me or others as well?
So when i use the PiP thingy some videos dont work, for example this video works but, this 1 music video i that i want to play wont work. When it brings me to the scripts app, it just shows me a crossed triangle.

even tho it’s “gone” you can still watch pip

first go to safari and search up youtube
then click a video and in the very top left corner of the search bar there will be “Aa” push on that and select “request desktop website”
then push play and go home! (this only works for ios 14) super easy!!
*You have to be on Safaris YouTube*

I thought once you opened a paid subscription to YouTube picture in picture was made available. Coming from a Note I really really hate that this isn’t implemented.

It will not let me turn add untrusted shortcuts on
Say shortcut has to be used first

This is really useful because I don’t think YouTube is gonna support iOS 14 PiP anytime soon, they usually don’t give a shit about new iOS features
