''get the insurance company and government out of the room''

Paying bigger premiums, with a smaller list of doctors to choose from and bigger deductibles added on top of it all. Too bad Pelosi didn't read it first.

Dr Siegel has excellent insight into the problem with Obama care. This is low quality insurance and he touches on the serious problems with these programs. One pet peve I have is the electronic medical record system. It is of little value and has destroyed the patient physician relationship.

It's about time a doctor cares enough about patients and stops sleeping comfortable while his patients are suffering and avoiding the doc, if possible. I would choose a guy like this as my doctor. I have a great one though... he refuses to accept insurance and has a low price list. Therefore, he's able to thoroughly care about his patients.

Most people don't have the money to pay out of pocket, i love how people with money say, lets pay out of pocket then get reimbursed, do you know how much a MRI test cost it's very expensive.

Why do Doctors never address the actual costs involved with health care? $150 for a 5 min discussion with the doctor. $10, 000 to have a baby. $20 tongue depressors. The Health care industry (doctors and facilities) want the most money they can suck from the people. Maybe if they reformed their industry a little bit that might actually make healthcare affordable. I would support tax breaks (or Govt funding student loan forgiveness) for doctors and companies who actually worked to control their costs and profits so people could afford to see them when needed. All it seems to be is "Let's find a way for the people to pay our horrendously expensive bills."

You said it! AND get rid of the middleman (Managed Care Companies). Healthcare legislation passed in the 80's by the Clinton administration, caused patient costs to skyrocket and payments to hard working doctors to shrink.

Translation-he's making less money under Obamacare. He wants patients paying him cash. Get rid of insurance all together would suit him fine.

It's the economics of complying with silly rules (regulations) and the actual amount of time it takes which just wears you out. For a primary care doc they need to see 4 to 5 patients an hour (which includes documetime). The insurers are increasingly stupid and wear you out. Finally most patients (like most of society) are dim and cannot seem to answer a question (they think it is a social visit).
