Here is a link to an 1975 RD 350, same color as Roy's with under 4000K and it is for sale.

What a lovely story, very envious. I had a cherry red secondhand rd350 in 1975 and a brand new silver one in 76. I had tt100 tyres put on in place of the originals. I still have the dial gauge I used to get the timing spot on. Amazing what a difference polishing the heads and getting the timing right made to the performance.

Its an absolutely fabulous looking RD, Roy should be rightly proud of that bike and the work he's done to bring it to that condition.
I think the bikes we own early in our riding days generate the most nostalgic affection. Me being the young guy I am, an RD250LC owned new at 17 is the bike I would most like (actually I would have the 350 version)

The bike looks great, he has done a lovely job of tidying it up. Nice V7 too. Shame he doesn't ride it though... bikes were built to be ridden.

I absolutely appreciate the comments here. Thank you. "The bikes we own early in our riding days generate the most nostalgic affection, " is so true. Perhaps if I obtain a 1970 QA50 I might even lose some of my gray hair! I do ride these occasionally but, seeing as I can't take them with me I should probably ride em more.
