NUX Optima Air NAI 5

NUX Optima Air is a dual-switch acoustic guitar simulator with a preamp for acoustic and electric guitar players. It simulates the acoustic guitar profiles with the best-optimized sound depending on your guitar and pickup type.
IR loader combined with a preamp which is equipped with 3-band EQ and Gain controls. And there is an additional one-knob-control Reverb effect. If you want to connect any effect pedal you can use the SEND/RETURN effect loop and add the Optima Air into the signal chain.
NUX Optima Air has a unique profile capture function, you can create your own acoustic guitar profile (IR file) by capturing your favorite acoustic guitar's sound.
There is an XLR DI output for direct line/mixer connection, headphones output for silent play and auxiliary input to connect a music player to play along.

I bought a new guitar Eastman yesterday and it took 10 minutes to capture a profile with my Nux. I used that sound this afternoon and it was perfect. Admittedly, I have had the Optima for a year and have a quite a lot of experience of recording guitars but this is the easiest and quickest system I have ever used.

This is great. Normally equipment reviews are for electrics and I just watch for your playing since I don’t have an electric guitar. But this appeals to me since I only own 2 acoustics. I know I’m in the minority but that’s the way it is. I love the different sounds you can get from this and the price is reasonable. I’ll have to think about getting one. Thanks for the review.

Actually Jon, , , I've been listening to many demo s, + + your off - on comparison, has made me decide to try this, , , , figured a way that I can mix separately, slightly in the mix. Even though I don't "love" any of the sounds, I think it's worth experimenting

Simulations sound better and better but i think nothing beats micing up the real deal. But it certainly is much more convenient for recording work!
